Welcome from the Chief Residents! We are delighted that you are interested in our Internal Medicine Residency Program. We are very proud of our housestaff and feel that our training at the University of Florida is truly outstanding. The strength of our program lies foremost in the excellent quality of our residents. Their success is cultivated by our world-renowned faculty, diverse patient base, and access to cutting edge research and technology. Our extensive educational activities are reflected in the continued post-graduate success of our residents in a wide range of fields including primary care, hospital medicine, various subspecialties, and clinical research.
Our Housestaff Advisory Committee was established to provide a distinct voice for the residents. Monthly recommendations from this committee have led to more efficient rounds and improvements in our conferences and schedules. The Department Chair and Program Director have been instrumental in supporting our housestaff, and they make it a priority to maintain open communication. Lastly, one of the most profound strengths of our program is our sense of camaraderie. Events throughout the year such as our football tailgates, family oriented Spring picnic, annual Holiday Party, and the End-of-the-Year Banquet bring us together as a group to enjoy each other’s company both inside and outside of the hospital.
